What is 1PDN?

1PDN stands for 1katan Penikmat Djalan Nandjak which is literally translated as unity of people who enjoy uphill road. We don’t love the uphill cycling but we enjoy the experience and challenge of cycling on slope up ground. Established in 2007 by a group of MTBers seeking the thrill in uphill cycling, 1PDN has successfully spread the euphoria of uphill cycling in Indonesia. Uphill cycling was associated as something fearful, tiring, boring and traumatic in the past has become enjoyable and challenging. Nowadays, more and more cyclist start cycling from the bottom of hill way up to the top and then start downhill or cross country cycling.

1PDN is an open community which membership is acquired as you taken an 1PDN official uphill class e.g Puncak Pass Class (22km from 450m to 1500m above sea level) or Sukamantri (12km from 290m to 900m above sea level). Yes it is simply just pedal your bicycle on the uphill track then you are a praja (student) or member of 1PDN.

1PDN organizing MTB Uphill Race

1PDN is organizing an uphill cycling annual MTB uphill race circuit called 1PDN Uphill Championship 2010. FYI, this is the first MTB uphill race in Indonesia or maybe in the world. Until now only road bike that has uphill race that is aready common. This year we plan to hold 4 uphill races in Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta) and Bandung. The first race called Sentul City Uphill Race take place on Bojong Koneng Uphill Class in Sentul area. The next race tentatively will take place on Sukamantri Class, Jakarta Urban Uphill Class and Irung (Nose) Bandung Class every end of quarter. The title of 1PDN King of Uphill will be awarded for the athlete on elite class who accumulate the most point within the year.

PB ISSI Official Events

The race itself is accounted in PB ISSI (Indonesian Bicycle Sport Association) official events for 2010 because one of the objective of 1PDN organizing this championship is to provide more races for Indonesian talented MTB (mountain bike) athletes. Notwithstanding there is a limited MTB race events in Indonesia, Indonesian MTB cycling athletes have contributed the first two gold Indonesian medals in the recent South East Asian Games. Can you imagine how competitive our Indonesian MTB athlete should the have more races?

Where and When

Sentul City Uphill Race which will take place on Sunday, 14 March 2010. The race consists of open class for athlete, master class and folding bike class. The track is 12 km long and consists of half fined asphalt high speed uphill and broken-bumpy asphalt slow speed uphill road. Start at Sentul City Marketing Office near Sentul Selatan toll gate exit and finish at Bojong Koneng KM 0.

SENTUL UPHILL RACE 1PDN CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES 2010

1katan Penikmat Djalan Nandjak, komunitas ‘uphiller’ yang berdiri sejak tahun 2007, telah mengadakan ‘uphill race’ untuk pertama kali pada 17 Agustus 2009. Race ini menjadi salah satu dari hanya dua ‘uphill race’ yang ada di Indonesia. Race ini SATU-SATUNYA yang tercatat di Kalender ISSI untuk Kejuaraan Nandjak kelas MTB.

Dengan ini mengundang semua PENIKMAT TANDJAKAN, rekan-rekan atlit dan penghobi sepeda untuk mengikuti “SENTUL UPHILL RACE 1PDN CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES 2010″ yang akan diselenggarakan pada:

Minggu, 14 Maret 2010
Start: Kawasan Sentul City
Finish: KM 0 Bojongkoneng dan Pondok Pemburu

Race akan dibagi menjadi 8 kelas

Kelas MTB
1.Open Athlete (semua umur)
2.Men Senior 19-30 tahun
3.Men Master A 31- 40 tahun
4.Men Master B 41 tahun ke atas
5.Women Open (semua umur)
6.Executive

Kelas folding bike
7.Men Folding Bike
8.Women Folding Bike

Race ini telah masuk dalam kalender kegiatan ISSI sehingga bisa diikuti oleh atlet daerah maupun nasional yang bergabung di masing-masing ISSI Cabang serta klub-klub sepeda. Penggemar olahraga sepeda pada umumnya, khususnya penggemar ‘uphill’ tentunya juga diundang untuk mengikuti race ini.

Piala SUPREMASI RADJA TANDJAKAN NASIONAL akan diperebutkan pada kelas OPEN ATHLETE.
